Week 8 - Final Week of CST 300 | Video Project Reviews | Learning Journal
Part 1:
Video Review #1 (Evaluation and Suggestions included) - Replicant Collective: Biomimicry
Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukOhBReFl5k
1. is the topic well covered?
Yes, very well. Intro is clear, then jumping into what they will present during this presentation.
2. is the presentation clear?
For the most part, yes. Speaker's spoke a little low or maybe audio was cut down during the editing of
the video and the background music .
3. how is the quality of the research?
The quality of the research is very good and is seen throughout the presentation.
4. how is the quality of the video production?
It is beautiful. The background music and video was very engaging and kept the audience engaged.
5. is the video engaging and interesting?
Yes. Because of the background effects, music and scenery.
6. is the team work evident?
Yes, all group members presented and each worked together on the slides and editing.
7. is the video appropriate to the audience (Suggestion included here)
This is where I see a problem. Since this was for professionals, I feel like the method used here is more
for kids. Professional's would want to see faces or just slides that are really straightforward and
explained well by the presenter. Also, the music and the background was also a little weird from a
professional viewpoint. I think that for professional audiences one should have clear slides and the
nice effects created there for engagement. Also, no background music as they are more interested in
hearing the presenters speak.
Video Review #2 (Evaluation and Suggestions included) - Prime Solutions: Ai Companionship
Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HF2iOZ3S0ws
1. is the topic well covered?
Yes, each topic discussed about the ai systems are explained well. All information is well-explained.
2. is the presentation clear? (Suggestion included here)
Not really. This team did not provide a roadmap for the audience to understand exactly what they will
cover during the presentation. Also, had a couple awkward pauses showing that there weren't many
edits made. Video is also almost 2 minutes longer than the 10-minute limit.
3. how is the quality of the research?
The research is really good as the information provided was on point and made sense.
4. how is the quality of the video production?
Good. Nice slides and good transitions.
5. is the video engaging and interesting?
For the most part yes. Because of the nice slides and good topic.
6. is the team work evident?
Yes, all presenters spoke and worked on slides.
7. is the video appropriate to the audience (either general public or technology professionals)
Yes, was professional for the most part. The presenter's speaking tone was good for professional
audiences.
Video Review #3 (Evaluation and Suggestions included) - CIGN: Bridging the Digital Divide
Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbHw68x0-vQ
1. is the topic well covered?
Yes, all topics are well covered.
2. is the presentation clear?
Very clear. Slides were pretty clear and presented well.
3. how is the quality of the research?
The research done for these slides is pretty evident as the team used many images and references
throughout the presentation.
4. how is the quality of the video production?
Good. HD quality, audio was good in each slide and each person's end.
5. is the video engaging and interesting?
Yes, they had clear slides and good presentation skills making the topic engaging and interesting.
6. is the team work evident?
Yes, definitely. All of the team members presented different slides making the team work evident.
7. is the video appropriate to the audience (Suggestion included here)
Yes, professionally crafted slides and maintained a good tone for the most part. I suggest that they
could've made sure everyone's audio and tone was in sync during the editing process as there are some
instances in which the next presenter started off very loud and clear while some others started off slow
and quieter. Also, the slide's were pretty nicely designed for the most part but, they seemed somewhat
kiddish. Not to be rude, but professionals prefer less color and "mess" on the slides. They'd rather want
the presenter over the presentation if that makes sense.

Learning Journal:
I have learned a lot over these 8 last weeks in CST 300. I even learned how to write essays again after not doing so for the past year and a half. We also learned how to actively work in teams and will continue to do so with the same group over the next 2 years. One of my main take-aways were setting deadlines and getting things done the right way and the right time. So time-management played a big role in this class.
How has your team communicated and/or collaborated?
In the beginning of the course, we had our first meeting in which we discussed the time's each of us are available. We're getting used to each other every meeting and feel pretty comfortable at the moment. All of our team members have given a lot of value to the group assignments and even coaching each other in the individual projects. So far it has been a great experience and I hope it stays like that and only enhances.
What can you do to make that collaboration more effective next time?
We have to make sure our agenda is followed through. One of our teammates did write out an agenda, but a lot of the assignments took longer than expected because of some issues with our understanding of the assignments. Everyone processes information differently and uniquely so I want to make sure that next time, each person knows exactly what the assignment or project wants us to do. This way all of us can contribute early-on during the project since we all would know what we're doing. So basically, we need a little more training or experience in effective project management.
