Week 6 - Capstone Ideas Discussion, Weekly Journal

 Part 1: Help Your Teammates to Develop Capstone Ideas

We discussed all our possible capstone ideas and saw a relation of organization and artificial intelligence within our ideas. 

These were our ideas:

User-friendly appointment booking system for small businesses - Many small businesses have a hard time with inefficient and difficult scheduling systems. This project would create a simple, mobile-friendly appointment booking system with features like automatic reminders and calendar, significantly improving customer experience and reducing no-shows.

Smart navigation system or app for public spaces - Many people struggle with navigating crowded places like malls, airports, or large events. This project would create a user-friendly mobile app that provides real-time navigation indoors, showing the least crowded paths based on foot traffic data. It could also include accessibility-friendly routes for users with disabilities, improving overall user experience and convenience.

AI-powered smart form autofill & error detection - Filling out online forms can be extremely frustrating, especially when users make mistakes or have to keep entering the same information. This project would develop an AI-enhanced form assistant that can autofill repetitive fields using smart suggestions. Detects and corrects errors in real-time (missing required fields, incorrect formats like invalid emails or phone numbers). Provides helpful tooltips based on user behavior and maybe even a chatbot to communicate to reduce confusion. This would significantly improve user experience, reduce frustration, and increase form completion rates, benefiting all types of businesses.

Blockchain-based Cryptocurrency Platform - A merchant platform implemented to provide fast and affordable transactions, digital wallets, and fraud detection mechanisms. This platform is to be used as a means to store, transact, and provide seamless analytics towards users.

AI-driven Precision Agriculture System - This system is to be used in conjecture with various sensors, while providing recommendations and implementations of irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.

Automated Blueprint Generation and Modification Tool - This system is to be used to generate and modify building blueprints, which automatically generates an initial blueprint based off a design or specification from the user, thus recommending or providing assistance in meeting requirements or regulations.

Develop a video game.

Develop a modding tool for a video game.

Develop an API or tool for a video game engine, such as Godot.

Develop a software that helps organize notes and ideas.

An organizational app powered by AI.

AI powered code review assistant.

Smart vehicle traffic management system.

Some of what we thought were do-able ideas:

These all have something to do with organization and artificial intelligence which kind of gives us an idea of what we want to do. 

Part 2: Keep Up With Your Learning Journal

This week our instructors told us to get further into our ethics essay and we did another AI writing experiment. I honestly thought that AI made it harder to write since I was trying very hard to not copy it down. However, the ideas it gave were practical and fit in well with the text. 

We also had some extra credit opportunities regarding internships and graduate schools. This gave us good insight into our future plans and were given advice to start thinking about internships now as most companies offer summer internships. 

Finally, we started planning our video presentation as a team and our assigned topic was Quantum Computing. So far we made a google slides presentation with some of our topics and decided that we will make the detailed version first and then the smaller one after. This way we have all the details and information and all that needs to be done after is some condensing for the smaller audience.
